What church leaders usually ask.
Does 423 step away after our leaders are trained?
No. Leader training prepares people to facilitate the local gathering; it does not transfer the entire ministry to the church. 423 continues hosting the recovery system, receiving and caring for members, coaching leaders, consulting with pastors, providing resources, and helping the community remain healthy over time.
Is the $900 annual partnership required in the first year?
Yes. The launch investment prepares or establishes the group. The annual partnership is what keeps the complete 423 system active around the group from its first year forward. Individual member participation is separate at $35 per month.
What happens when a difficult member or pastoral situation arises?
423 helps the pastor and leaders assess what is happening, clarify appropriate boundaries and next steps, determine whether outside clinical or emergency care is needed, and protect both the individual and the health of the community. 423 is a ministry and recovery-care partner, not an emergency-response or clinical treatment provider.
Who handles applications and member onboarding?
423 does. Members enter through the 423 application and intake pathway, receive orientation and placement, and remain connected to the wider member system, resources, workshops, and care pathway.
Who pays the $35 monthly membership?
Individual members normally maintain their own $35 monthly membership. A church may choose to sponsor particular members, and available scholarship pathways can be discussed when cost would otherwise prevent participation.
Is this our church’s group or a 423 group?
It is a 423-hosted recovery community located within and pastorally connected to your church. Your church provides the local home, covering, and relationships; 423 provides the recovery model, member pathway, leader development, systems, and ongoing specialized support. It is a shared ministry partnership rather than a licensed curriculum handoff.
Can people from outside our church attend?
Yes. A church-hosted 423 Community can become a trusted regional pathway while remaining under clear pastoral covering and the shared safety standards of the partnership.
